Diskarte

DISKARTE is a Filipino-themed 2D troll platformer that challenges players to navigate the chaotic urban landscape of Metro Manila. Players control Juan, an ordinary Filipino trying to reach home through infrastructure nightmares such as potholes, unpredictable jeepney traffic, sudden flooding, and endless construction zones relating to DPWH issues. The game combines precise platforming with unexpected "troll" mechanics that subvert player expectations, creating a loop of failure, learning, and eventual triumph. 

Unlike traditional action platformers, DISKARTE features no combat. Success depends entirely on timing, observation, and adaptability - the very "diskarte" (resourcefulness) that defines Filipino resilience. Environmental hazards serve as both obstacles and puzzle elements, requiring players to think critically about safe paths while reacting quickly to dynamic threats. Each death is instant, respawning is immediate, and humor softens the frustration through Filipino expressions and satirical commentary on real urban issues.
